The Worst of Washington, All in One Place
If only we could come together in a bipartisan way and bomb Iran or Syria into oblivion, just like the good ol’days.
Hillary Clinton and Dick Cheney next to each other at John McCain’s funeral… seems so much how Washington used to be, and is no longer. When America hears these stirring patriotic songs today, do they even hear the same words?

If this is how Washington used to be, and it is, then Washington needs to burned, bombed, and paved over. Of course, this sort of rhetoric displayed a different way contributed to Trump’s appeal, at least to some, but the bipartisan consensus around issues that are really terrible was a very bad thing and should be mourned by no one. Whether McCain’s funeral, which I believe is now in its 19th day, is the last gasp of this old Washington or a sign that the old Washington is ready to reunited at any time, it’s pretty gross.
