I’m not sure why there’s been an uptick on violence against Sikhs — tensions with Iran? Syria? I don’t know — but I’m noticing it more and more, and I don’t think I’m suffering from confirmation bias. So, for example, today a judge in Mississippi ejected a Sikh from his courtroom and told him not to come back until he’d taken “that rag” off his head.

This is in addition to the earlier attack on the Sikh professor in NYC. I don’t know the etiology of this upswing, and honestly, I’m hoping it is a statistical aberration.

If it isn’t, I’m curious as to why it might not be. Thoughts?

UPDATE: I just noticed that my comment about knee-jerk anti-Southern statements might be a little ironic given that I live in the South, but you can’t read it, because I’ve been downvoted off my own article. Liberals! They’re the real racists.
