That’s something that a friend often says on social media, and he said it again this morning. He usually accompanies it with a cat picture, as I have done.
A thousand things brought us here. We are all feeling a thousand emotions. My inclination is to use poetry and other symbolics because they encompass more than one thing, but they also have a lot of room for misinterpretation, so I think I won’t do that now.
A good observation from Ed Burmila on Bluesky:
It will be very easy with time and hindsight to criticize choices the Biden-then-Harris campaigns made but the Trump campaign was so ludicrously bad and ridiculous that you have to wonder if doing anything differently would really have mattered.
And from Celeste Pewter, in a thread that is worth reading:
We are NOT going to be alone in this. Refuse that thought right off the bat. We are going to work side-by-side to freaking reclaim this country from the ghouls that have dragged it this far to the right.
I’ve dipped into the comments on the other posts this morning and see nobody doing a lot of blaming. Good. We all need some space right now. There is a lot to be done.
