By The Washington Post (gift link) has some graphics that may help to explain some of what we see. The way ballots are counted in some states leads to an early Republican count, with Democratic ballots coming in later.
In 2020, more Democrats voted by mail, and mail ballots are counted later in some states. I haven’t been paying close enough attention to compare today’s results so far, but it seems to me that there should be some similarities. The landscape is different, though, so any comparison is likely to be flawed.
I’m going to bed pretty soon. I don’t think, for this and other reasons, that we’ll have a clear winner tonight.
