Audit of Georgia voting rolls finds compelling evidence of massive non-fraud

Before anybody systematically checked, it was an an article of faith among the Stop the Steal crowd that huge numbers of non-citizens are voting in elections.

For example:

Trump and his allies have zeroed in on the baseless claim that Democrats are encouraging newly arrived migrants to vote for them in the 2024 election.

“Our elections are bad, and a lot of these illegal immigrants coming in, they’re trying to get them to vote,” Trump said at the Sept. 10 presidential debate.

Well the great state of Georgia has just gone through the trouble of checking the citizenship status of 8.2 million registered voters, and . . .

Georgia’s top elections official said Wednesday that a check of voter rolls found that 20 of the 8.2 million people registered to vote in the state are not U.S. citizens.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said during a news conference that the voter registrations for those people had been canceled and that they will be referred to local prosecutors for potential criminal charges. His office said none of those people has cast a ballot in November’s general election, but nine of the 20 had voted in previous elections and the other 11 had no record of voting.

So that would be a total of zero non-citizens voting in the most recent election, in a state of 11 million people.

I mean it’s statistically more likely that an actual Yeti voted in the last Georgia election. (Well a baby. I’ve seen pictures . . . I’ve heard of them).

Basically the “problem” of non-citizens voting in American elections is a completely imaginary, made up thing, meaning it’s exactly the same as most things that Donald Trump claims are destroying the nation.

Meanwhile, speaking of things that could destroy the nation:

Of course he’s going to do this. He’s going to do this even if he loses all the swing states. He’s going to do this if he loses by ten million votes.

Unfortunately, the election is likely to be close enough that Trump’s inevitable election night declaration of victory has the potential to make the post-election/pre-inauguration period very . . . interesting.

Luckily I’m confident that Merrick Garland is already gearing up the whole DOJ to deal with this in the most vigorous . . . OK I can’t do it.
