Wow, who could have known that the Republicans trying to frame Hunter Biden were the cat’s paw of Russian intelligence?
A former FBI informant with ties to Russian intelligence officials who allegedly fed the bureau false information about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden during the 2020 presidential campaign was ordered released under conditions after a detention hearing in a federal courtroom in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Alexander Smirnov, a 43-year-old who had been working as a confidential human source for the FBI since 2010, said that “officials associated with Russian intelligence” were involved in passing along a story about Hunter Biden, prosecutors said in a filing Tuesday, alleging that Smirnov “is actively peddling new lies that could impact U.S. elections after meeting with Russian intelligence officials in November.”
Now that the shit has hit the fan, perhaps members of the nation’s press corps could stop pretending to believe that these snipe hints are being conducted in good faith. Granting that it’s hard not to be taken in by evidence this compelling:
