Assholes (threaten to) resign from well-compensated union job, proving they never should have had their jobs in the first place

Vaccine mandates are great policy because vaccines need to be taken collectively to work optimally and they increase the number of people who take vaccines. But they also have some major side benefits as well:

If the most insubordinate and least-public spirited police officers are compelled to resign…great! Just all upside here. (Admittedly, I’m pretty skeptical that there will actually be many resignations — the “submitted paperwork” language is cute — but at least the ones that are bluffing will get the damn vaccine.)
