LGM Film Club, Part 149: The Las Vegas Story

I watched the 1952 film The Las Vegas Story the other night. Directed by Robert Stevenson, it stars Jane Russell, Victor Mature, Vincent Price, and Hoagy Carmichael. It’s more OK than great; the plot is wobbly and let’s be honest, neither Russell nor Mature were all that good at acting. But this film does serve an interesting role as one of the first Vegas films and it’s highly worth it just for the footage of Vegas at the time. Of course Price is great and Carmichael is himself. A 6/10 film, but a fun 6. Here’s the original trailer:
