More on Breyer’s impending (?) retirement
Stephen Breyer gave a lecture this week opposing the idea of expanding the SCOTUS, which reminded people that he hasn’t retired yet or even given any indication that he plans to do so.
I did a show with Dan Abrams yesterday on the topic, which can be found here.
The show featured numerous callers, and I was somewhat surprised that this sample of what appeared to be a largely liberalish audience featured so many people who were of the view that it was wrong to pressure Breyer to retire, because if you have a lifetime appointment you should get to keep it for as long as you want and also too judges should interpret the law, not make it.
Whaddaya gonna do?
