LGM Film Club, Part 133: Don’t Think/Some Days
In 1969, a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras named Ron Anderson decided to make a film about what life was like for the volunteers. It’s actually quite an introspective look at these folks. They often come into the Peace Corps very idealistic about making change and then they come to realize the limitations of their power. Sometimes they have nothing to do. Sometimes they enter into a classroom that is a pretty rough teaching situation. It’s not that exciting of a life. But it’s still a very important thing for them. It’s so good that the Peace Corps used the film in its trainings in the 1970s. Worth your time. Unfortunately, it cannot be embedded in the post, which occasionally happens on YouTube, but you can watch it here. It’s about 27 minutes.
