Reading recommendations requested

For reasons that should be obvious, I’ve been thinking about scams a lot. And not just big ones like televangelism or fake universities or trickle down economics. But relatively small ones like this. Or the much larger haul by this under-appreciated genius.

No one is immune to scams, but because logic can’t coexist with a supremacist belief system no matter how well-educated its adherents, and because such systems are fueled in part by insecurity and irrational fears, I assume that there’s a positive correlation between how openly a nation embraces supremacism and how easy it is to rip off the people who are doing the embracing.

It’s a situation where even C.M.O.T. Dibbler would become richer than his wildest dreams. Millions of angy people who know they are as gods. But, who are also always anxious and don’t feel so good because the people they put in charge of the country are busy with self-enrichment schemes or invading Poland and don’t GAF about the people who put them in power and cheer at the rallies.

That is my theory that it is. But is there any proof for or against? Surely someone must study this sort of thing and have written about it so I can read it. I’d also be interested in some general reading on scams and how they work, so please leave your recommendations in the comments.
