Sociopaths are Us
The head of Colorado’s Republican Congressional delegation isn’t getting vaccinated against COVID-19 because he’s an American, which means he enjoys the blessings of Freedom:
A Republican congressman from Colorado announced he would not be taking the coronavirus vaccine because he’s “an American”, a statement that’s sparked controversy among officials.
Representative Ken Buck was asked on Friday about when he would receive the coronavirus vaccine given other members of Congress, such as Senate Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, got the jab.
“I will not be taking the vaccine,” he told Fox News host Neil Caputo. “I’m an American. I have the freedom to decide if I’m going to take a vaccine or not and in this case I am not going to take the vaccine. I’m more concerned about the safety of the vaccine than I am the side effects of the disease.”
A key to understanding the Republican party is that it has turned a toxic combination of rampant sociopathy and religion-inspired magical thinking into an ethno-nationalist ideology that must be subscribed to by all “real” Americans.
BTW, after a local Colorado paper revealed that Trump lead lawyer Jenna Ellis had gotten fired after just a few months as an assistant DA in Weld County, Colorado, I did a little digging around, and two people familiar with the circumstances of the firing told me Ellis was dismissed for forging a defendant’s name on a plea agreement.
This would normally get a lawyer permanently disbarred, plus quite possibly put the ex-Esquire in question in the hoosegow for a little stretch, but nothing like that happened to Ellis, because according to my informants her boss decided it would be wrong to so cruelly abort the nascent career a fine Christian young lady like Ellis, just because she made a little mistake.
Her boss was none other than Weld County DA Ken Buck, who is now on the edges of the national spotlight for choosing to protect his precious bodily fluids from possible contamination.
Speaking of which, I’m happy to report in an anecdotal sort of way that the typical dumbass upper class Boulder liberal — this is somebody who lives in a three million dollar house with a little statute of the Buddha in front as a reminder that suffering is caused by desire — has become much more reluctant than formerly to share opinions about how there are really a lot of serious questions about vaccines if you just open your mind to alternative medical perspectives.
This is the kind of cancel culture everybody should support.
