He’s so cruel and unusual
Today, the Supreme Court reversed a Fifth Circuit decision that granted qualified immunity to prison guards who made a prisoner spend four days in a cell “covered, nearly floor to ceiling” in “massive” amounts of shit, and then in a freezing cold cell naked with no bed, toilet or functional drain. (Have I mentioned recently that the Fifth Circuit could use about 20 more seats?)
Clarence Thomas dissented.
“What if George H.W. Bush’s approval ratings were in the low 40s in June 1991” is one of the many painful hypotheticals that can be considered when pondering How We Got To This Awful Place.
