That joke isn’t funny any more

When I was 20 years old I drove home drunk from a party and came within about a tenth of a second of killing a kid riding a bike, but adrenalin sobered me up enough just in time, and everybody walked away OK though badly shaken.

I’m pretty sure the moral of that story is that drunk driving isn’t actually dangerous.

If we’re lucky, that will also be the moral of the story of the last four years, as told to us three mornings from now by various centrist doofi, intellectual dark web savants, and everybody else who has been so concerned about that kid at Oberlin who got upset about the banh mi.
