It’s worth noting what a righteous movement ACT-UP was. Did it ruffle feathers? You bet. Did it go too far sometimes? Sure. Did it do more than any other single thing to move gay rights forward in the American mind? Yes, I believe so. Moreover, I can’t think of a single movement with more to teach activists today.
