The Start of the Winnowing
By Looks like this will be the lineup for the next Dem debate, barring a last-minute poll:
Some observations:
- Mairanne Williamson truly has the momentum of a runaway freight train. (I’m not sure how Maureen Dowd will declare her the winner of the next debate when she’s not even onstage, but I’m sure she can figure it out.)
- Imagine what actually useful work could be done with the enormous amounts of money Steyer is pissing away on a pointless vanity campaign that can’t even get a spot on the debate stage.
- I regret Gillibrand not making the cut, but I’m fine with it; she’s not getting any traction and isn’t going to be the nominee, and it’s fine to establish minimums requirements at this point. And none of the other candidates who didn’t make it merited the slightest consideration, so I’d say it worked out OK.
- Bullock needs to run for Senate or GTFO.
- I have no idea why deBlasio is running for president but his plan to desegregated New York schools is good! If only there was a job relevant to this goal he could be focusing instead of a farcical run for president nobody wants.
