Activism Survey Says … Part I

A big thanks to everyone who participated in the activism survey last month. Here is some quick n’ dirty analysis of the replies to the first four questions.
The survey began with the following note: “For the purposes of this survey participate is broadly defined to include donating money to an activist organization or attending an event hosted by an activist organization. It does not include voting.”
1. When you were a child, did any of your immediate family members participate with activist organizations? Respondents were asked to select ‘No’ if they didn’t know or remember.
- Yes: 29%
- No: 71%
2. Are you a member of a union?
- Yes – 25%
- No – 75%
- My workplace is attempting to unionize – 0%
3. Have you participated with at least one activist organization within the past three years?
- Yes – 66%
- No – 34%
4. Within the past 12 months, how many activist organizations have you participated with? People who answered ‘None’ were prompted to submit the survey.
1 – 18%
2 – 20%
3 – 11%
4 – 3%
5 – or more 8%
None – 39%
