The courts are standing strong this week. USIP did what it could to slow down the vandals. At least three courts are building the basis for contempt of court charges. I’m not clear on who would be charged with contempt or what the penalties would be, but there certainly are clown shows being presented by DOJ lawyers.

Which reminds me: I saw a claim that one way to get at those turkeys is to lodge complaints against them with their local bar associations. That seems to me to require a fair bit of legal knowledge. Could some of our lawyers tell me if this is a good thing to do?

Follow the court-watchers for the lawsuits. Chris Geidner (LawDork, Bluesky), Roger Parloff (Lawfare, Bluesky), and the Just Security tracker.

I signed up for a town hall with my congressional Representative, Teresa Leger Fernandez, that will be held next Saturday. She is requiring signup ahead of time and will make the place known to those signing up through email.

AOC and Bernie are drawing crowds in Colorado!

As usual, keep it to things that have actually happened, not hypotheticals. I think it’s important to stay grounded with what has happened. What is actually happening is bad enough, and hypotheticals confuse our sense of reality.

Take time out when you need to. Post your pets.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@aoc.bsky.social) 2025-03-22T01:29:22.112Z

There were 11,000 in Greeley.

Pushback

  • Schumer postpones book events.
  • Chief Justice John Roberts said that impeachment is not the answer to disagreements with judicial rulings.
  • Musk’s takeover of USAID found likely unconstitutional.
  • In at least three cases, judges are laying the basis for charges of contempt of court: Transport of Venezuelans to El Salvador, keeping Musk’s boys from accessing personal information in the Social Security Administration, and (I think) one of the cases challenging DOGE itself.
