Watch Anything But the Trump Speech

I hate politainment at any time. But I have to ask–why in the name of God would you watch Donald Trump’s speech tonight? To do so is actually a sign of sickness–a masochistic desire to be beaten and humiliated by our erstwhile strongman. As is the case with any televised politics, if anything does happen, you can just watch the highlights. But this? To watch this is just asking to have a chamber pot dumped on your head. There is no responsible “civic engagement” that requires this. Focus on your mental health. Focus on doing things that bring you joy. Focus on doing things that helps this nation move beyond its proto-fascist reality, if you want to do something political. But for God’s sake, don’t watch this. Far better, making far more lovely noises, is this video of a cat and a theremin.
