Trump belongs to Putin

Tbe biggest and most successful gaslighting operation in the history of this country was the constant right wing hysteria about the “Russia hoax,” with “hoax” here having the specialized meaning of “claims that were 100% accurate, and if anything badly understated.”
Donald Trump is Vladimir Putin’s direct proxy in Washington D.C. This is not hyperbole. Trump asked Putin to intervene in the 2016 election in his favor. He did this on national TV, so I didn’t exactly have to break into any secret files to discover this. Putin did intervene, per the unanimous conclusion of all of America’s intelligence agencies in the wake of the election. There were also numerous direct connections between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government, although under the circumstances that’s barely relevant: Again, Trump publicly asked for Putin’s help to get elected president, and Putin gave it. And again, these are ascertained facts, to the extent that anything can be a fact in the political world today, which, given its increasingly Orwellian and Kafkaesque character is perhaps not saying very much, which in turn explains the mess we’re in.
Over the past eight years, and most especially since his re-election, Trump has behaved EXACTLY as one would expect the president of the United States to behave if he were a puppet of the Putin regime, rather than an independent actor. This is because Trump is a puppet of the Putin regime.
This is all out in the open, but it’s the kind of blindingly obvious conclusion that nevertheless remains largely unspeakable, because the truth is very often too awful of a thing to utter in words of one syllable, or at all.
