Unhinged and Hallucinating
By The administration is panicking and throwing stuff at the wall. This morning, in reference to Donald Trump’s repeating what Vladimir Putin told him about Russia’s rare earths I suggested that it will really get interesting when Putin convinces him of Russia’s strategic snipe reserves.
Putin was obviously trolling Ukraine, implying that the US could get a better deal on rare earths with Russia, so Ukraine has no leverage. Reporting on the neocolonial minerals deal has been abysmally ignorant, both of geology and history. The only participant with less understanding is Trump.
This afternoon,
Trump and his friend Elon Musk have been telling us for weeks that they plan to go to Fort Knox to make sure the gold is still there. Just in case someone’s been spiriting it out in the dead of night.
