House votes to reduce the deficit by pairing $4.5 trillion in tax cuts with $2 trillion reduction in federal spending

That adds up to a $6.5 trillion reduction in the deficit if I’ve got my wingnut math right.

The House on Tuesday narrowly passed a Republican budget resolution that called for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and a $2 trillion reduction in federal spending over a decade, a first step for advancing major elements of President Trump’s domestic agenda. The plan’s passage — shortly after the vote appeared to have been canceled — set up a fight among Republicans over what federal programs to slash to finance major tax cuts, and came after Speaker Mike Johnson, with assistance from Mr. Trump, put down a small revolt among centrist Republicans who feared that the plan would require deep reductions in Medicaid spending.

In fact this is going to absolutely gut Medicaid, since there are no more T-bone steaks and Caddylack cars being handed out to the shiftless scions of welfare dependency these days. Medicaid is one of three federal programs, along with the DOD and Social Security, that spend enough money to enable deep cuts in federal spending, and for obvious reasons — OK, I’ll spell it out: The Woke Triple Crown of racism, sexism, and classism — it’s the most vulnerable to the combined depredations of Elon Musk’s oligarchical collective and the Reverse Beatitude Christianity of the fundie scum.

How far this atrocity will get pared back in the Senate is something that even now is no doubt sending the furrows on Susan Collins’ forehead into Very Concerned mode.

I hate these people so much.

. . . Many millions of middle class Americans depend on Medicaid to pay for long term nursing home care for parents who have exhausted their assets paying for end of life care. A lot of these people voted for Trump and they can all burn in Hell as far as I’m concerned.
