At least there’s no F-150 amendment (yet):

At least 10 people were killed and 30 more were injured after a man drove a pickup truck into crowds on Bourbon Street in New Orleans in the early hours of New Year’s Day, in what city officials are calling a deliberate attack.

“It was very intentional behavior. This man was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could,” the New Orleans police superintendent, Anne Kirkpatrick, said in a news conference Wednesday morning. “He was hellbent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did.”

According to Ms. Kirkpatrick, the man drove at high speed into crowds at around 3:15 a.m. before crashing and opening fire, shooting two police officers.

The attack happened at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon Streets during New Year’s Eve celebrations, which bring large, raucous crowds to the city’s French Quarter.

The mayor claimed at a press conference that this was a “terrorist attack,” but an FBI spokesperson said it wasn’t shortly afterwards. The driver also shot two police officers.

. . . Now the FBI is describing the attack as terrorism:

“This morning, an individual drove a car into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing a number of people and injuring dozens of others,” the FBI said in a statement. “The subject then engaged with local law enforcement and is now deceased. The FBI is the lead investigative agency, and we are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism.”
