There’s security camera footage which show the cybertruck exploding into flames, so I don’t know whether this was suicidal Banksyesque performance art, a post-New Year’s Eve fireworks accident, or just crappy engineering. (One person was killed, apparently inside the car, and several more were injured).
Paranoia runs deep.

The Tesla Cybertruck that caught fire outside a Trump hotel in Las Vegas is now being investigated as a possible terror attack. Sources say the vehicle was rented through the same service used by the suspect in the New Orleans incident. Tesla CEO Elon Musk addressed the situation on X, writing, “The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. We’ll post more information as soon as we learn anything. We’ve never seen anything like this.”
