Is Trump blowing it?
In his closing argument, Trump continues to address the economic anxiety of the working class:
If we elect this guy president again it’s a civic failure far beyond anything I thought possible in my lifetime https://t.co/bMO9KcR89Y— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) November 2, 2024
Crowd non-reaction is actually amazing. Even his own rally goers are bored and over him https://t.co/n68Ab297fL— Markos Moulitsas (@markos) November 2, 2024
For what it’s worth (nothing), in my gut I don’t feel terribly optimistic about Tuesday, in part because the downside outcome is just so dire. But I will say that one thing that isn’t discussed a lot is that after getting the incredible gift of James Comey’s October surprise, Trump acted something like a disciplined candidate for the first time ever, letting EMAILS! blot out the sun and not giving the press anything that could stop the drumbeat. Needless to say, this isn’t happening in 2024, and I think there’s a real chance that Harris gets a big win among late-breaking voters the way Trump did in 2016.
