Trump sleaze update

I’m well aware that LOL nothing matters, but just for the sake of the record, while we still have one:

(1) Trump flip-flopped on the ballot measure to overturn Florida’s six-week abortion ban, just a day after indicating he would vote for it (I didn’t think felons were allowed to vote in Florida, but whatever). Floridians are overwhelmingly opposed to the six-week ban, but Trump’s anti-abortion base flipped out when Trump made his comments, so he just chose to forget about the 17 abortions he personally promised to pay for, and now says he’ll vote against the measure.

(2) It turns out Trump’s Arlington National Cemetery publicity stunt was sleazy even by his standards, and the whole thing was a set-up, designed to allow Trump to claim it was a public event that he attended while Biden and Harris skipped it. This was a complete lie from top to bottom, and the Trump campaign’s goon squad’s assault on the ANC staffer ended up sparing us from the inevitable New York Times headline of “Trump and Harris Campaigns Dispute Status of Arlington Event to Honor Fallen Soldiers.”

(3) As an extra added bonus, Trump is now blaming the family of the soldier whose grave he stood over when he gave the camera a thumbs-up sign and a big smile:

The soldier whose death provided the occasion for Trump’s latest sociopathic exhibition was Nicole Leann Gee:

Sergeant Nicole Gee, a native of Roseville, California, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2017 and was later assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 24, where she provided maintenance on ground electronics transmission systems.

Sgt. Gee deployed to Afghanistan in support of the Afghanistan withdrawal. There, she served on a Female Engagement Team, to facilitate evacuation support for Afghan women and children.

Sgt. Nicole Gee, 23, was killed in a suicide attack along with 12 other service members. Less than a week prior to her death, Sgt. Gee made a social media post of her caring for an Afghan infant in which she remarked: “I love my job”.

During her Memorial service, Sgt. Harrison, a close friend of Sgt. Gee, remarked, “She lost her life so others may live and without a doubt, she died proud. Proud of who she was, proud of what she was doing and proud to be a United States Marine.”

Sgt. Gee’s actions in addition to the actions of Sgt. Rosario Pichardo, and that of the other servicewomen working in the screening of female evacuees saved, on estimation, over 124,000 lives in America’s largest airlift operation ever
