To be clear, Occam’s razor, Bayesian inference, and Meemaw’s bookie all agree it’s extremely unlikely that this particular play represents that kind of monkey business. But this is going to be my shocked face when there’s a huge college football betting scandal some year, like oh in maybe fifteen minutes from now.
I noticed that Michigan State’s quarterback actually said “Bet the over” when asked for his thoughts on the upcoming titanic clash with the Florida Atlantic Owls (final score: 16-10), which I thought was both funny and kind of disturbing. I mean not as disturbing as fascism and genocide and some other things, but big trouble of a sort is definitely coming soon to a sports near you.
