Pennsylvania Republicans shoot another brick
Where do they find these guys? Well not in Pennsylvania mostly:
Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick’s social media account appeared to mistake a news report involving a shooting in Philadelphia, Mississippi for the City of Brotherly Love; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
McCormick’s account reposted a news clip of a Mississippi television station reporting on a shooting involving an alleged MS-13 gang member who police say shot multiple people after entering the United States illegally.
The repost included a comment criticizing McCormick’s opponent, incumbent U.S. Senator Bob Casey, and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
“MS-13 gang members are terrorizing Philadelphians because of Harris & Casey’s radical open border policies,” posted McCormick in response to the Mississippi shooting.
The post was taken down several minutes after another account pointed out the story was from Mississippi.
Maddy McDaniel, the Communications Director for Casey’s campaign, responded on X saying, “Dave, this story is from Philadelphia, Mississippi — not Philadelphia, PA” and shared a picture of a City of Philadelphia police car.
McDaniel added in a subsequent statement “Since David McCormick lives in Connecticut, it’s not surprising he can’t tell the difference between Pennsylvania and Mississippi. We can help, Dave — Pennsylvania is the state that is going to reject you in November.”
The is a particularly embarrassing error for a member of the party that was a Ronald Reagan personality cult before it was a Donald Trump personality cult. These whippersnappers don’t remember the classics!
