Not satisfied with publishing pro-state-murder essays, Bari Weiss decided to publish a blog arguing in favor of recalling the Travis County DA based on the demonstrably false premise that crime in Austin had “soared” since he was elected:

Much more at the second thread. Anyway, there’s a happy ending:

Incumbent José Garza clinched the Democratic nomination for Travis County district attorney, according to complete, unofficial election returns, all but ensuring he will be reelected in the November general election.

Garza declared victory early on election night, after early voting returns showed that he had a 30-point lead over challenger Jeremy Sylestine. He continued to hold that lead as election day returns rolled in, with complete returns showing he’d won 66.86% of the vote.

Emerging onstage at his watch party at Hotel Vegas, Garza was greeted by chants of “four more years.”

“We scored a major victory for our progressive movement and for criminal justice reform in this county,” Garza told the crowd.

ROFL:

I’m sure Bari will keep printing the legend.
