GOP: the framers enacted Article VI, now let them enforce it

Governor Calhoun and his congressional allies are calling for more nullification:
Several Texas Republican lawmakers, including three from the Houston area, have urged the state to defy the Supreme Court’s order to let the Biden administration cut concertina wire Texas has strung out along the border. Governor Greg Abbott has responded by issuing what he described as a “Statement on Texas’ Constitutional Right to Self-Defense,” signaling what could be the beginning of a constitutional crisis.
State Representatives Tom Oliverson (Houston), Steve Toth (Conroe), and Briscoe Cain (Deer Park) attacked the high court’s decision on X.com. Cain quoted President Andrew Jackson, saying, “The Supreme Court has made their decision, now let’s see them enforce it.”
Governor Abbott then issued a statement asserting the state’s constitutional right to protect itself, accusing the Biden administration once again of failing to protect the state from what Abbott characterizes as “an invasion” of undocumented immigrants.
Abbott has not yet indicated that he will defy the Supreme Court’s order to allow federal agents to cut the concertina wire, but numerous reports have emerged that the state is continuing to deploy the wire.
