Desperate and definitely against reproductive freedom in Des Moines
So I guess Republicans had a kiddie table forum tonight:
The race to become the sole alternative to Donald Trump in the GOP nomination contest grew sharper Wednesday as Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley faced each other alone in a testy debate hours after the departure of the most vocal anti-Trump candidate.
Wednesday night’s face-off at Drake University, broadcast on CNN, came after the presidential race was jolted by the withdrawal of Chris Christie, who gave no indication that he would endorse anyone as he tore into Republicans for failing to mount a stronger challenge to Trump, the former president and GOP nomination front-runner.
The debate, rife with insults and policy contrasts, was held five days before Monday’s Iowa caucuses start the nomination balloting. Trump skipped the debate, as he has before.
Insert the line about academic debates being so intense because the stakes are so small.
In the forum involving someone who could be the Republican nominee for president in 2024, we are presented with something that should appear in many campaign ads this year:
Trump brags about overturning Roe v. Wade: I did it. I’m proud to have done it. It was a miracle pic.twitter.com/4SRaUFHqd1— Biden-Harris HQ (@BidenHQ) January 11, 2024
Show it again and again and again. He was the reason a deeply cherished right was eliminated and he’s proud of it — Democrats cannot mention this enough, especially since a lot of coverage will try to portray his as a “moderate” because he’s pretending to favor some unspecified compromise policy that is as real as his unspecified alternative to the ACA.
