LGM Podcast: Race, Removal, and the Right to Remain
In our latest podcast, we interviewed Samantha Seeley of the University of Richmond about her recent book Race, Removal, and the Right to Remain: Migration and the Making of the United States. This is a fantastic book about the idea of free migration as central to American history, how this excluded both Black and Native people, and how they resisted, largely rejecting calls for colonization (for free Black populations) and using any means necessary to hold onto their lands (for Native populations). We explored these issues in the podcast, as well as the broader implications of his history of the Early Republic on the present. Check it out!

The LGM podcast is now available from a variety of corporate overlords, so please perform freedom by making your consumer choice. We would very much appreciate reviews, whether of the thoughtful written variety or just by clicking on the appropriate star. The podcast is time-consuming and expensive, so also contemplate tossing a nickel in the jar.
