First Amendment Elegy

I observed during the Ohio Republican Senate primary that there was absolutely nothing ideologically at stake — Peter Thiel’s Fake Appalachian Messenger Boy J.D. Vance is just Josh Mandel with fancier degrees and more personal avarice. Let’s just say I stand by this analysis:

The lengthy period of time the political press spent treating this smarmy Ivy League authoritarian as some kind of Working Class Whisperer is a colossal embarrassment. And he’s still getting treated with kid gloves.
