Doomerism Can Be Framing
By I made a comment on Paul’s earlier post that drew a doomer comment.
There’s a good discussion going on over there about the ACA and Medicare. If the link doesn’t work, blame Disqus! The discussion is at the very beginning of the comment thread.
But the Doomer and I are saying the same thing, in different frames!
We agree that ACA is amazing.
We agree that the next step is Medicare for everyone!
But they highlight the incompetent Republican caucus. We know they’re incompetent. It’s a downer that one of our political parties is made up of fascist fools.
ALL THE MORE REASON TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC!
So that we can have Medicare for everyone!
It’s partly a matter of temperament. But it’s also a habit, and I think part of Paul’s point is that we need better habits.
