Teamsters Ratify Contract

If you are on Twitter, you might think there was significant opposition to the contract the Teamsters worked out with UPS to avoid a strike. See, Twitter is filled with people who see other workers striking as fulfilling their own personal fantasies of revolution. So any pro-strike voice gets amplified. But in the real world, the Teamster members were by and large very happy with this contract and they approved it 84-16 margin, the union announced yesterday. That’s a solid win, with major pay gains for workers. It’s always better to win those gains without a strike than with a strike, unless you are a cosplaying online leftist.
