Hot Take: Affirmative Action Programs for the Rich Are Actually Good!

Were you waiting for the argument in the nation’s elite op-ed pages that legacy admissions are actually good for everyone involved? Oh, I know I was. This idiocy is the first of what I expect are going to many such arguments as our elites freak out that their B student kids might not get into Duke or Williams and have to go to, gasp, Emory. My favorite part about it was to shunt any real discussion of legacy admissions by noting that in fact elite universities do a crappy job at admitting poor kids. Yeah, we know that. That’s part of the problem with legacy admissions.
