Scott’s recent post about the treason weasels who are going broke after going for broke for Mr. Grabby Hands included mention of the Sept. 7 gala he’s hosting at his Bedminster, N.J. country club “in support of” Rudy Giuliani.
You should definitely read that post, it is hilarious. But I want to give everyone a chance to guess how much money Rudy might actually receive from the $100,000 a guest gala.
When you make your calculations, remember that the Marmalade Menace has agreed to participate in a round table discussion before the dinner. That will boost attendance, and I will assume 15 guillotine-dodging scumbags will pay for a chance to hear a long, incriminating rant about how the MM is so super and everyone else is so stupid. However, based on publicly available records, organizations regularly pay him more than $1 million to run his face.
After all the fees, taxes, tips, incidentals, miscellaneous and miscellaneous incidental fees for the event, I predict Rudy will walk away the proud owner of diddly/squat plus all the leftovers he can scrounge.
Your own calculations may be less cynical.
You can also speculate on what would happen if someone lobbed something, such as a nest full of angry bald hornets, into the room. Say, right after the staff leave the room and right before the doors lock themselves. Somehow.
I know, I know. Bald faced hornets eat harmful insects and build fascinating nests. That’s why it is a hypothetical. Or maybe there is something else that less useful but would do just as much to enliven the soiree. For example, all of the lackeys he isn’t even pretending to help after they’ve been drinking for an hour.
