The dumbest con

Libertarian Silicon Valley tech bros have been responsible for some truly dodgy scams — Effective Altruism For Profit, Crypto, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — but this might be the very dumbest:
NFTs were, no joke, the dumbest bubble in history. Dumber than tulips or even Beanie Babies. They were literally digital receipts that said you alone owned something that everyone did.
It’s so embarrassing that Silicon Valley was pushing these so hard. https://t.co/ltY7fGJgYn— Matt O'Brien (@ObsoleteDogma) July 22, 2023
I guess there’s a new docudrama about Beanie Babies with Zach Galifianakis and Sarah Snook out, and as bubbles go that was certainly more dignified than “buying a line of code meaninglessly claiming that you own a shitty digital picture.”
However, there ARE some exceptions: if you’re looking to diversify your all-Loomcoin account, make sure to check out the digital rights to crude images of members of the 1981 Montreal Expos available at lgm.eth.
