I am gaining some respect for Chris Christie
Chris Christie is taking an unusual campaign strategy for a Republican candidate for President in 2023. He is attacking his competitors.
All the other candidates have steered clear of attacking the eminently attackable Donald Trump. Twice indicted, likely with more to come, lecher, liar, and ignorant of what the Presidency is, despite four years in the office. You can probably add more of Trump’s negatives.
Trump is “the cheapest S.O.B. I’ve ever met in my life,” Christie told POLITICO on Tuesday evening. “What Donald Trump is good at is spending other people’s money.” (Politico)
A sideswipe against Kevin McCarthy too: This is what McCarthy believes about Trump: that he’s a lousy candidate.
And there’s the second-runner:
Christie is, first and foremost, a Republican, so this is by no means an endorsement. My early years were spent in New Jersey, so perhaps I find his manner less annoying than others might. It will be interesting to see where he goes with this, and how the media cover him. I look upon it as an experiment, and experiments are always fun.
