We’re at the point where it’s very hard to project anything about this conflict until the highly anticipated Ukrainian offensive begins to run its course. The Russian winter offensive failed to take much territory but certainly did force Ukraine to expend personnel and munitions. It’s awfully hard to read the tea leaves in all of the infighting between Wagner and the Russian Ministry of Defense, but none of it amounts to a particularly good look for Russia’s capacity to continue the war. But we shall see…
