LGM Film Club, Part 376: Life of Brian

So I watched Life of Brian again recently for the first time in many years…..is it just me or is like 50% of this movie just making fun of people with speech impediments? There are a few jokes that hold up of course, though people of a certain generation repeat this stuff so often (including in comments here) that they are all stale now, including the tired old People’s Front of Judea joke, even if it is fundamentally a good bit. And Eric Idle really does steal the show with his great female characters. But overall, I don’t think this film ages nearly well as those who think it is a classic claim and I’m not sure how speech impediments are funny in 2023.
