Fighting China from Frankfort

I have an op-ed in the Herald Leader about how state governors can conduct their own foreign policy. Long story short there’s quite a bit! Full text here.
It was fun doing a bit of research on this. All of it was inspired by Kelly Craft’s aspiration to use the governor’s office to fight both China and Mexico. Apparently it’s becoming a bit of a thing among GOPsters with ambition, which serves to remind us that a “restraint” based GOP foreign policy is a contradiction in terms.
