5th circuit issues bizarro world order in re Judge K’s very special opinion

Here’s my very favorite bit:

The Comstock Act is an effusion of paranoid 19th century misogynist garbage, portions of which have been declared, for now anyway, unconstitutional by the SCOTUS — the bits where it’s a federal crime to transport contraceptives across interstate lines for example, although it’s pretty obvious that Clarence the Grifter, Sammy the Papal Bull, and the Church Lady want to get rid of Griswold et. al. post haste — but which has never been revoked by Congress, because of the massive dysfunction of the Greatest Legal System in the World ™.

I don’t think people are still quite getting that a fanatical cult of radical reactionaries wants to wipe out 150 years (at least) of social progress, in the pursuit of authoritarian ethno-nationalist theocracy by radically anti-democratic means, i.e., legal orders from unelected life tenured judges, put on the bench for this precise purpose by a multi-decade conspiracy yclept the Federalist Society.
