Often wrong, never in doubt
It will be amazing to watch Radical Centrist and Nonpartisan Libertarian LOL pundits who spent months claiming that the 2022 Republican campaign would be smashingly effective, not least because it consisted almost entirely of oooga-booga advertising about the same inane bullshit they are personally obsessed with, now pivot to blaming it all on Trump, who they knew was unpopular all along:
It is safe to say that we can stop to listen to stuff like this now. That the whole reactionary-centrist crowd, from McMegan, over Silicon Valley dorks to Colin Cowherd, that is yelling about Covid restrictions, schools, “gender” and crime, does not represent any larger group. https://t.co/rveDgZq145— vocational politics stan account 🫳♨️ (@Convolutedname) November 9, 2022
Well, at least outside of Florida, which is a lost cause for Democrats in any case. LIFT THE EMBARGO NOW!

Also, remember when the Times found 4 polls that were remarkably prescient about Democrats remarkably outperforming the fundamentals, and wrote it up as the “Dems are doooooomed” piece anyway?
Dude, the Ds in your polls are collectively outperforming Biden, who won the popular vote by 4.5 points! I don’t know if this is a case where you don’t want to throw your editors under the bus, but these are good polls for Ds and the narrative in the story doesn’t match the data.— Nate Silver (@NateSilver538) October 28, 2022
The thing is, I’m sympathetic to an extent — subjectively, I was incapable of feeling good vibes despite encouraging polls. But election reporters really should write about the data, not their feels.
As Paul mentioned all of the election denialist kooks Democrats “helped” (by running negative ads against Republican frontrunners before the primaries were over) lost, mostly very badly. Are we going to get any revision of the Barro/Hamid “maximizing their chances of beating Republicans proves that Democrats are lying when they say beating Republicans is important” takes or nah?
And finally, some people claim that there’s a woman to blame, but you know it’s your own damn fault:
Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz — including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him.— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) November 9, 2022
Worth remembering that Trump is a grown man who endorsed Oz over the objection of some of the people closest to him, and instead went beyond just endorsing and attacked Dave McCormick from the stage at a rally.— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) November 9, 2022
