Christine McVie

Christine McVie of the group Fleetwood Mac has died at the age of 79.

I always loved her smokey sensuous voice, preferring it to that of her more famous partner Stevie Nicks. She was also a fine songwriter: “Songbird” is my favorite track on Rumours, which is a high bar to leap, and “Over My Head” is a song that has lived in my head for more than 45 years now.
