People in academia will also grimly enjoy Shapiro’s post about how he applied for a position he had no particular qualifications for and they didn’t even respond. As someone who has spent many years on the academic job market , all I can say is, man, get over yourself. Jesus Christ.
There are real issues of free speech on campus, and some of them even come from the left, but “right-wing academics quitting because the Substack/anti-woke lecture circuit offers a lot more money for a lot less work” really isn’t one of them.
