This is, at least, unusual candor from a CANCEL CULTURE warrior:

The thing is, nobody actually thinks that “free speech” means “everyone must have unlimited access to the venue of their choice no matter what they say or do.” If Chappelle insisted on telling hacky anti-Semitic “jokes” at every show we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Nobody thinks the First Avenue Theater has a moral obligation to book Bill Cosby and maintain the booking over the objections of their staff. What this ultimately comes down to is that the people panicking over this just don’t think anti-trans rhetoric is wrong, and therefore the people objecting to it are “aggrieved” whiners. It’s the same reason hacky “popularism” arguments these days frequently end up with the pundit going on about how BATHROOMS or PRONOUNS are killing the Democratic Party with zero evidence. It’s an ugly, disingenuous game.
