As I’ve said before, for most of his public career Alito’s shtick was to dress up completely robotic party-line votes with bland technical opinions that didn’t yield attention-getting blurbs like Scalia’s. That slowly eroded over his time on the Court, but since Kavanaugh was confirmed he’s been full-on Fox News Grievance Merchant, and why not? One could even begin to conclude that unrestrained power is a bad thing.
