Hello!

Got a couple news items for ya, in case you missed them:

Over at the New York Times Magazine I wrote about HBO’s highly entertaining “Winning Time,” the ethical dilemma posed by its depiction of Jerry West and the contemporary vogue for prefabricated narratives which I call Oven-Ready TV.

Also: My esteemed colleague Paul Campos had a brilliant meditation on the infinitely rich and that which drives them to ever greater depths of deprivation. Coincidentally, I wrote a piece for The Ringer last week about Phil Mickelson’s shocking choice to not defend his PGA championship, the batshit corporate and geopolitical snarl that he has entrapped himself in and what miracles may remain for the game’s greatest escape artist.

Check ’em out if they sound like your cup of Gatorade/Amstel Light/Casual Water!
