Putin initiates immoral act of unprovoked imperialist aggression
President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia declared the start of a “special military operation” in Ukraine, pledging he would seek to demilitarize but not occupy the country, addressing the nation in a televised speech broadcast just before 6 a.m. local time.
Mr. Putin said the operation would aim for the “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine,” referring to the Kremlin’s contention that Ukraine’s military threatens Russia and that it is run by neo-Nazis.

It was impossible to tell what was being targeted in the explosions being reported from Kyiv. The sound of at least one blast appeared be coming from the direction of the city’s airport, according to CNN. Local media outlets there were reporting internet outages. It is about an hour before the sun rises in Ukraine.

While some of his more pathetic supporters, haven been proven wrong every step of the way, are now engaging in grimly hilarious hairsplitting about whether this military attack for the purposes of annexing at least part of a sovereign country constitutes an “invasion”:
What are these clowns even doing, man? Just JAQing each other off with the dumbest semantic/hair-splitting around- (“well it depends if you go by the Webster’s definition of ‘invasion’. Actually…”).

And why not? It makes perfect sense for supporters of reactionary politics in the United States to support Putin. Right in the wheelhouse.
Republicans want you to side with Russia over Europe because they don’t really like democracy, they love ethnonationalist brutality, they hate liberalism and LGBT people, they want to burn as much fossil fuel as possible, and they just have odious moral values in general.— David Atkins (@DavidOAtkins) February 24, 2022
